The opening of Congleton's newest restaurant is fast approaching.

There is less than a week to go until Orso Lounge on Bridge Street swings open its doors.

Part of the national café/bar group Loungers, the venue aims to be more than simply a place to eat and drink.

John English, head of community at Loungers, said: "We can't wait to open the doors of Orso Lounge next week. 

"Our Lounges strive to put community at the heart of hospitality and our teams always go the extra mile to make a difference. 

"They are actively encouraged to connect with their communities by working with local groups, charities, organisations, and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life. 

"We are very much looking forward to welcoming local residents to Orso Lounge."

Orso Lounge officially opens on Wednesday, April 16, creating around 30 jobs for local people.

It takes over the former Boots, with the unit having been completely transformed.

Heavily patterned wallpapers, tiling and stripped wooden floors now feature alongside oversized vintage sofas, upholstered lounge chairs, eclectic artwork and statement wall and pendant lighting.

Orso Lounge is described as being 'a home-from-home'.

It will cater for all tastes throughout the day with a varied and innovative all-day menu boasting everything from breakfast and tapas to salads and burgers.

There will also be also special menus for those following a vegan or gluten-free diet.

Meanwhile, particular attention will be paid to families with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils and pads on offer. 

A full menu, high chairs and baby-changing facilities are also available for 'Little Loungers'.
