Officers have warned residents after discovering four bags of rubbish were dumped on the Cat and Fiddle.
The Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team found the bags of loft insulation left at the side of A537 between Congleton, Macclesfield and Buxton earlier today (10 March).
Police officers say they are currently carrying out 'operation permits' to crackdown on fly-tipping that 'blights' the rural areas.
PC Jim Clark, of Cheshire Police, said: "A load of what appears to be loft insulation has been ditched on the roadside up on the scenic A537 more commonly known as the Cat & Fiddle.
"OpPermits is our operation targeting waste crime and fly-tipping and we will continue to target the offenders who blight our countryside with this illegal, unsightly and anti-social behaviour.
"You can help in this by way of checking any carriers you use for 'tip runs' building work or garden clearance have the correct licenses for waste removal and carriage.
"We have some great interactions with decent legitimate waste carriers and we are fully supportive of their work as they are with ours."
