A brand-new business which describes itself as an "informal café bar" is set to open in Congleton town centre.

Loungers UK Ltd submitted a premises licence application to open at 14-16 Bridge Street.

The company plans to sell alcohol and provide late night refreshment daily.

The premises license application reads: "NOTICE is hereby given that, Loungers UK Limited, have applied to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Lounge, 14-16 Bridge Street, Congleton, CW12 1AY for a Premises Licence to provide the following licensable activities:

  • The Sale of Alcohol between the hours of 10.00 and 00.00 daily for consumption On and Off the premises.
  • The Provision of Late Night Refreshment between the hours of 23.00 and 00.30 daily"

Lounges has also began recruiting for staff to work at its new branch - the company is currently looking for a Front of House Supervisor.

According to the website, Lounges are "informal café bars" which are open all day, every day for "long lazy breakfasts, brunch and lunch, or a relaxed dinner and drinks.

"We serve a wide range of food and drinks (including full kid's, gluten-free and vegan menus), served in a relaxed, welcoming space."

The company already has branches in Stockport, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cheadle and Warrington.
