Sarah Russell MP and Congleton Mayor Kay Wesley dropped in to Bromley Farm Wellbeing Hub in Congleton recently to help out with the Friends Lunch Club and learn about the new courses on offer from Macclesfield College.

The Hub on Parnell Square, run by volunteers with the support of Plus Dane Housing, offers a range of activities to boost local residents' wellbeing. The Friends Lunch Club runs every Tuesday from noon to 2pm - free for any local resident to pop in for a chat and a free lunch provided by the Old Saw Mill cafe.

And until December, the Hub is hosting free courses on IT, interview skills, getting the most from your smartphone and more, thanks to Macclesfield College.

Sarah said "It was lovely to chat to local residents about how much they value the support and company they find at the Wellbeing Hub. Thanks to all the volunteers for inviting me along, and for everything they do for the local community."

Kay Wesley said "We're so lucky to have the Bromley Farm Hub Group supporting local residents. The Lunch Club has proved popular, along with a variety of other activities at the Wellbeing Hub, all organised by local volunteers.

"The free community courses are great for anyone wanting to upskill ready for work, and I'd encourage anyone who lives locally to take part."
