Congleton Town Council are supporting the Marie Curie charity today (Tuesday) for a national Day of Reflection.
A minute's silence midday and a national doorstep vigil at 8pm will form part of a day of reflection to mark the anniversary of the UK's first Covid-19 lockdown.
The town council invites the people of Congleton to take a moment to remember, grieve and celebrate anyone who has died during this time and show support for those who are grieving.
As households come together this evening to light up their doorsteps, the Congleton Town Hall building will be illuminated yellow as a mark of respect to remember the local lives lost during the pandemic and to support those who have been bereaved.
Town Mayor, Cllr Sally Ann Holland, said: "This annual day will give us the time to come together to reflect on how the last 12 months has affected us.
"It is important to pause from our busy daily lives to remember the special people no longer here and support those who have lost someone they care about.
"It is also an opportunity to look to the future when things will become better and brighter."
The National Day of Reflection takes place during Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal.
