Men suspected of entering UK illegally arrested during M6 stop scheck

Two men suspected of entering the UK illegally have been arrested.

A black BMW was stopped by Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit on Friday (June 20) on the M6, at junction 17 for Congleton.

The two passengers, men from Albania aged 25 and 29, were found to be wanted in connection  with immigration offences and were subsequently arrested.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 8.37am officers from the Roads and Crime Unit stopped a black BMW 520 at junction 17 of the M6 motorway..

"Approaching the vehicle officers found three men inside and, whilst conducting checks on the occupants, it was uncovered that the two passengers, a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, were wanted in relation to immigration offences.

"The pair were taken into custody and have since been handed over to colleague's from immigration enforcement."
