Work to improve the safety of the A527 Congleton Road is underway.
Staffordshire County Council has set about improving safety for both drivers and pedestrians on the main road between Congleton and Biddulph.
This will be achieved by clearing vegetation, adding extra road markings and extending the 30mph speed limit zone.
The project is expected to take three or four days, with a road closure in place from 8am to 4pm during this time.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We're starting work on A527 Congleton Road on Monday, February 23, to make the area safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
"The 30mph speed limit will be extended from the junction with Grange Road up to Forge Cottage, replacing the existing 40mph limit.
"Crews will also clear some vegetation and add extra road markings to improve visibility."
They continued: "The work should take three to four days, weather permitting.
"The road will be closed each day from 8am to 4pm, with a signed diversion via the A500, A34 Newcastle Road and A34 Congleton Road.
"Traffic lights will be removed each evening where it's safe to do so."
