Investigation launched after dog found dead in house fire

A dog has died following a house fire in Congleton.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Beatty Drive this morning (March 7) following reports of a fire at a bungalow.
Three engines, one each from the Congleton, Holmes Chapel and Macclesfield stations, arrived at the scene at 5.34am.
During a search of the property, a dog was sadly found dead.
A CFRS spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle a fire in a bungalow in Congleton.
"Gas and electricity supplies have been isolated and a full search of the property is being carried out.
"Sadly one dog has been found deceased inside the property.
"An investigation into the cause of the fire is to be carried out."

North West Ambulance Service has confirmed there were no human casualties.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson added: "At 5.59am this morning police were called to an address in Beatty Drive following reports of a fire.
"Police and firefighters are investigating to establish the circumstances of the fire.
