'I just don't love it anymore' - Congleton bakery set to shut its doors

A Congleton bakery is shutting down.
NO.62 Artisan Bakehouse on Havannah Street will close after service on Saturday (May 10).
It comes after co-owner Ethan McCafferty admitted he has fallen out of love with baking.
He said: "The curtain must close on NO.62 and it would be easy to say it's because of money and rising costs but it's really not.
"Running a business is a lot harder than I ever envisaged it would be.
"I am looking to change my career and start afresh.
"I've reached my ceiling with being a chef and a baker and it's beginning to run me into the ground and I just don't love it anymore.
"The passion little me had, coming home from school with my bread rolls and soup, if I could bottle that and sell it to you all, you'd be inspired for life, but unfortunately I'm not a magician and my flame is dying."

Ethan started on his journey as a chef 13 years ago while still at school.
In August 2023, at age 25, he opened NO.62 with his partner, Kayleigh Bromley, and his brother, Boyde Parker,
"The last two years have been two of the best years of my life," Ethan said.
"We vowed when opening the bakery that we would give it our all, 24/7, but we also vowed that we would do it until the day we didn't love it anymore."
He continued: "We are so grateful for every single customer, friend and hater we have ever had, but now is my time to say goodbye.
"This isn't brought out of money, success and the trials and tribulations of owning a business. This is brought out of us, our careers and our own mental health.
"We have, are, and forever will be grateful for the journey we've had, the people I've met and the memories made, but now is my time."
NO.62 Artisan Bakehouse will be open 7am to 2pm from Wednesday to Friday before opening for the final time at 7am on Saturday.
