Jobs are at risk at Congleton McColl's, with the chain set to enter administration.
Last night, the convenience store chain McColl's were warned that they were on the brink of collapse.
Unless the chain can secure more funding, stores up and down the country risk going into administration, including our town's very own store in West Heath.
Supermarket giants, Morrisons, may be able to come to McColl's rescue as they have proposed a last-minute rescue deal that could save the convenience store from financial collapse.
The aim of the deal is to save as many jobs and stores across the UK as possible, however there is still no word as to which stores would be saved and which would still close down.
16,000 jobs could be saved if the deal with Morrisons goes through.
Morrisons already have a relationship with McColl's as they have a partnership which operates with more than 200 Morrisons Daily convenience stores, including the Morrisons Daily in Buglawton.
McColl's employ 16,000 people nationwide.
