Fourteen vehicles were clocked speeding on a Congleton road this morning (Saturday).

Congleton West Police officers, armed with a hand-held speed gun, were on Newcastle Road monitoring traffic after concerns from residents.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Speed enforcement has been carried out on Newcastle road this morning, 14 vehicles were exceeding the 30mph limit."

Speed enforcement was also carried out on Newcastle Road two weeks ago, where 13 vehicles were clocked exceeding the limit.
