Former Congleton GP accused of sexually assaulting pregnant patient

A former Congleton GP has been accused of sexually assaulting a pregnant patient.
Ninian Thomson, of Randle Avenue in Rainford, is set to stand trial after being charged with sexual assault.
The alleged offence relates to an incident involving a pregnant patient at Moody Street GP in 1990, where he was working as a doctor at the time.
That practice no longer exists.
Thomson also worked as a GP in Staffordshire and Scotland.
The 71-year-old appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on March 9 of this year.
On Thursday, June 4, Cheshire Police confirmed that Thomson is next set to appear at Chester Crown Court for a trial beginning May 27, 2027.
