Excitement building as return of Congleton's popular springtime music festival

Excitement is building ahead of Congleton Unplugged 2026.
The town's much-loved springtime festival returns later this month, bringing together established artists and music lovers for three days of live performances and community spirit.
With more than 50 performances across 17 venues, there promises to be something for everybody. with an eclectic mix of acts offering everything from blues and folk to indie, rock, pop and pure jazz.
Best of all, entry to all musical performances is free of charge!
Mark Bailey is chair of Congleton Live CIC Limited, custodians of the festival which runs from Friday, March 20, to Sunday, March 22.
He said: "Everybody is heartily welcomed to Congleton Unplugged where they can see the outcome from our never-ending team effort.
"It is the dedication of volunteers, ably supported by sponsors, venues, and performers, that should deliver huge joy and pleasure at Unplugged."

Community events
Community groups will be performing in Cross Street Pentecostal Church and St. Peter's Church.
Audiences can enjoy a family atmosphere with performances from Magic Voices Choir, The Beartown Ukes and Congleton Young Singers.
The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Ahead of the festival, on Monday, March 16, award-winning poet, songwriter and musician John Lindley will be offering a spoken-word and multimedia presentation entitled 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan'.
In a presentation punctuated with superb projections and recordings, John, a recognised Bob Dylan expert, tells the story of arguably the best-loved and most influential and important singer/songwriter album of all time.
The only ticketed event of this year's festival, it takes place in the reception of The Space, with tickets priced at £8 each.

Music & Art Workshop
In an innovation for this year's festival, there is a plan to put on a 'Music and Art Workshop', championed by local artist and keen music consumer Ian Ecclestone.
Ian will be asking participants to share in the creation of several music-inspired paintings that may represent the shared pleasures of community, music, and art.
This will take place in the Electric Picture House on Saturday, March 21, at 2pm.
Mr Bailey added: "Our wider community spirit and interest is a huge driver for us.
"Commercial activity is very important to all towns, but I love the community events occurring at The Pentecostal Church, St Peter's Church, and The Electric Picture House.
"They reflect the warm and friendly character of Congleton and our residents."
