Dad running 100 miles in 24 hours to help son's school repair play equipment

A dad is embarking on a mammoth challenge for his son's school.
Jonathan Davies has set himself the task of running over 100 miles in just 24 hours.
He is taking on the 'Cheshire Ring' to raise money for outdoor play equipment at his son Angus' school, Bosley St Mary's.
The 37-year-old air con engineer said: "Now the sunshine's arrived I'm raring to go!
"When you're taking on these big challenges it's a great opportunity to try and raise money for a worthy cause.
"It's a fantastic school that is blessed with lots of outdoor space and hopefully the funds will give them some more resources to make use of that space.
"We could all do with spending a bit more of our lives outdoors than we do."

Jonathan is no stranger to long distance running events, having already completed various ultramarathons and other challenges.
However, when he first attempted the Cheshire Ring last May he struggled with the heat and dropped out after 70 miles, returning to complete the route the following week.
Despite this, he is optimistic that things will go better second time round.
He said: "I'm pretty confident.
"Last year I suffered with the heat. Through the middle of the route I was really struggling to eat or drink because I was nauseous from the heat.
"But I've got another year's worth of experience and hopefully as it's a bit earlier in the year it will be a bit cooler which will make it easier."

All of the money raised will go towards the Bosley St Mary's' PTA, who are looking to repair playground equipment made unsafe as a result of storms and heavy rainfall shortly before Christmas.
Jonathan is hoping to raise £1,500, which should be enough to make the repairs, with a bit left over.
He will be setting off from the school at around 1.30pm on Thursday, April 3, arriving back in time for the end of the school day on Friday.
