Court grants closure order extension for anti-social behaviour hotspot in Congleton

An anti-social behaviour hotspot in Congleton will continue to remain off limits.
Chester Magistrates Court has granted an application to extend the closure order for a property on Bromley Road for a further three months.
The property was initially shut down for three months by police in June following reports of crime, disorder and drug abuse.
PC Helen Weeks said at the time: "We are dedicated to keeping this neighbourhood and its residents safe, so securing this closure with their help is fantastic news and I hope it encourages others to work with us to make their communities safer for everyone."

The order, secured under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, is a direct result of officers and Plus Dane Housing responding to the concerns of residents.
This included reports of drug activity, antisocial behaviour, threats of violence, and visitors all day and night, with sufficient evidence of these issues provided by neighbours.
The occupant was given ample opportunity to seek assistance from other agencies but failed to engage.
They have since been ordered to leave the property and find alternative accommodation.
All windows and doors have been secured for a period of three months.
Anyone who attempts to enter the address will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
