Council investigating crash which caused 'significant damage' to bridge

A bridge on a rural road has suffered 'significant damage'.

Cheshire East Council are investigating a possible crash at a bridge on Shellow Lane in North Rode.

It is believed that a vehicle may have struck the parapet some time between Saturday, May 23, and Wednesday, May 27.

This has resulted in 'significant damage', the council's highways team has stated.

A spokesperson added: "If you witnessed the RTC or have any info regarding the incident please contact us on 0300 123 5020 to help us reclaim the costs of repair."
