No coronavirus deaths were registered in the Congleton area in July according to new figures published today (Friday).

The death toll currently sits at 45 in the local area according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) which publishes the figures each month.

The totals for each area listed by the ONS are as follows:

Congleton Town- 12

Congleton West Heath- 5

Buglawton- 14

Hightown, Mossley & Timbersbrook- 14

These figures record deaths where coronavirus was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor in all settings, including hospitals, care homes and in the community.

They do not provide a breakdown of whether a person's registered address was at a care home or in the community.

To protect confidentiality, a small number of deaths have been reallocated between neighbouring areas and the figures exclude death of non-residents.
