Preist Fields is like a mini-village more than a care home! And could bring home some awards in the spring.

A Congleton care home which opened two months ago this week has already received national recognition.

We covered the opening of Priesty Fields, of Congleton's CW12 4AQ in November.

And now their state of art art facilities have been recognised for not one, but TWO awards.

Congleton's newest care home has has been shortlisted as finalists in both the prestigious Pinders Healthcare Design Awards and Family Business of the Year Awards for 2022.

The family-run home has been shortlisted in the category of 'Innovation & Environmental Design' in the annual Pinders Healthcare Design Awards, which recognises the very best developments in all types of care-related environments.

A panel of judges made up of healthcare architects, interior designers, valuers, leaders and operators will pick the overall winners.

And we won't have long to wait to find out if the Luxury Congleton care home multiple wins. As the awards will be given out on Wednesday March 16 at the Royal Lancaster London Hotel.

As a finalist in the awards, Priesty Fields will also receive a £500 cheque payable to their chosen charity – Alzheimer's Society; a UK-based care and research charity for people with dementia and their carers.

Additionally, they will receive a trophy recognising their achievement for display in the project.

In addition to this, Priesty Fields has also been shortlisted as finalists in the tenth edition of Family Business of the Year Awards, which seeks to highlight the contribution family firms make to the UK economy.

Taking place in June, winners will be announced regionally as well as by sector and there are additional awards for entrepreneurship, innovation, spirit of family business, small family business of the year, ones to watch, people's choice, and the top accolade; supreme champions.

Additionally, the winner of the People's Choice Award will be announced at the ceremony, but will be decided by a public vote that can be made here. Voting closes Friday, April 30.

So it is very possible the Mayor-owned care home could have bagged three awards for our town by the end of the year!

After hearing about the double nomination, Rishi Sodha, Care Director at Handsale, which operates Priesty Fields, said: "We feel honoured to have been recognised as finalists in both the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards and the Family Business of the Year Awards 2022.

"As a group, the development and construction of Priesty Fields Care Home has been one of the most exciting and rewarding projects to date.

"Determined to offer our residents the very best in person-centred care, it has very much been a collaborative experience between staff, residents and their families – who were all consulted regularly during the design and build process – and we're delighted for our effort to have been recognised in this way."

The innovative physical structure of the building has been tailored to suit the specific needs of people requiring continuous care, with enticing communal areas that encourage independence and stimulate the senses being included in the design.

Positioning itself as an interactive and inviting community hub, Priesty Fields' holistic approach has considered peoples' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.

Biophilic 'living walls' and natural wood, stone, and glass features will help to enhance mental wellbeing, while its human-centric interior design will provide an authentic and homely atmosphere.

The home is also sustainable, being built with a heat recovery system and environmentally friendly lighting for low energy consumption - aligning with the wider environmental objectives of the Hansdale care group, who operate the home along with eight others across the UK.

Situated in a green residential area of its namesake road close to Congleton's town centre, Priesty Fields is a luxury 78-bed purpose-built residential care home, offering Congleton residents a space where they can maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.

Nestled in a green residential area close to the centre of our market town, the home includes 78 spacious en-suite bedrooms, along with a gastro pub, farmers market. cinema, spa, salon, gym, library, private dining room, garden lounge, and a GP office.

The award-nominated Congleton care home is run by Handsale, a group of eight care homes across England, Scotland and Wales providing innovative care to its users through digital care plans, secure medication delivery, and 24/7 management.

The group prides itself on empowering staff to provide outstanding care by putting wellbeing and community at its centre.
