A Congleton woman hopes to raise over £1000 for Samaritans by conducting a 24-hour make-up marathon.

Buglawton resident Tatty Lomas, who has six million likes on social media site TikTok, will broadcast herself for a full day after she finishes work on Friday September 2.

She wants to raise over £1000 for the national charity, like she last May when she did the same challenge for the same cause, raising £1200.

"I started by TikTok during lockdown when I lost my job as a musical theatre performer and had nothing to do," said Tatty.

"I lost all my work and needed to keep my mind busy for my mental health and give me a purpose.

"Then I began to volunteer with Samaritans at their Leek branch, which kept me busy.

"Last year's 24-hour livestream raised money for Samaritans and Mind [the mental health charity], but this year I wanted to just do Samaritans because of my connection with them."

Tatty's make-up tutorials range from the zany to trendy, her short form video clip make-up tutorials get thousands of views each.

Tatty regularly livestreams her more creative looks for up to eight hours at a time. So this charity make-up marathon will relatively easy for her. (Image - Tatty Lomas)

But Friday's will be extra special as she will be creating content for a full day.

The life-long Congleton resident, who has had international press coverage for her make-up TikTok account, attended Mossley Primary School and Sandbach High School.

The make-up influencer revealed why her content resonates with so many.

"I started off with really creative looks and I think people just liked the wow factor", she explained.

"I used to livestream the whole process which would take eight hours to complete. Which many people had never seen anything like before.

"With so many girls that do make-up on TikTok, you have got to do that thing that makes you stand out.

"I like to think my personality brighten people's day.

"I'm lucky in my day job as a social media assistant that I only have half-days on Friday, which will allow me to have a big nap before the livestream which starts at 6pm on Friday and ends at 6pm on Saturday."

"I really want to hit the one grand goal, if I don't I might just keep going."

The stream will be sponsored by make-up brands and feature special guests.

"I love living in Congleton as where I am it is nice and quiet, compared to where I work in the city. But Congleton also has everything you need, while being close to Stoke and Manchester.

"Thank you to anyone who donates. Having worked with Samaritans I know how imperative the service is and how many lives they save within hours. Without the service, I think a lot of people would struggle.

"Please come say hi on the livestream as well, the encouragement is really appreciated, especially as you get into the next day."
