Tonight's (Thursday, 5th August) Congleton Town Council meeting has been postponed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 this morning.

The meeting that was due to start at 7pm in the town hall has been put back for two weeks (19th August).

Today the town hall has been closed for a deep clean following the positive Covid-19 case.

A Congleton Town Council spokesperson said: "It was felt by the Congleton Town Mayor (Cllr Denis Murphy) and others there was no reason to put the public, councillors and staff at any risk when all the items on the agenda could wait for the reserve date on 19th August for a decision."
