A school has been forced to shut amid high levels of sickness absence.
Congleton High School will be shut for a deep clean on Wednesday and Thursday, November 26 and 27.
It comes following a number of cases of 'flu like' illness.
A letter sent to parents by headteacher Heidi Thurland reads: "There have been a number of cases of flu like illness in the school so far this week leading to high levels of sickness absence.
"We have sought advice from UK Health Security Agency North West Health Protection Team and the infection control team.
"Following on from this advice we are informing you at the earliest opportunity, we have the made the decision to close the school for two days to initiate a deep clean of the premises."
The letter continues, highlighting advice from the Health Protection Team on hygiene measures to help prevent spread within the school.
It states that individuals who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with others, where possible.
Furthermore, the letter notes that a plan for the 'effective continuation of learning' has been implemented.
Work will be set in accordance with the usual timetable, where staff are well enough to do so.
Students are expected to engage in their remote learning if they are well enough.
The school will provide an update with regards to the reopening of school on Friday, November 28, on Thursday afternoon.
