Congleton on lockdown: Live list of available services

For a second time this year, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged us all to 'stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives'.

A further national lockdown from today (Thursday) comes as new coronavirus cases recorded across England have seen a sharp rise.

This is devastating news for many Congleton businesses, who find themselves yet again having to adapt in uncertain circumstances.

Congleton Nub News aims to help by compiling a list of businesses, who will be adapting their services, with information easily accessible in one place.

This list will be updated and re-shared regularly.


Wild & Wild

Wild & Wild will be remaining open for a brand new takeout menu for walk ins, serving fresh artisan coffee and cakes daily.

The business will also be offering the same services as they in the previous lockdown: Grazing boxes, veg boxes, treat boxes, whole cakes, organic wine and so much more.

Bare Health

Bare Health, 34, High Street, Congleton, is classed as an essential retailer and will remain open during lockdown.

For those who do not wish to venture to the store (normal opening hours apply), the Bare Health team are happy to take orders and payment by phone, they will then deliver locally for minimum orders of £15.

Alternatively residents can place orders, make payments and collect from the store. For all enquiries or advice on immune support call Bare Health on 01260 408413.

Bare Health Store specialise in wholefoods, herb teas, supplements, herbal remedies, bodycare, aromatherapy oils, crystals, eco household and refills, plastic free, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and a fabulous range of Christmas gifts.

The Loft - Shoppe At The Top

The Loft, on Newcastle Road, Congleton, will be delivering their gifts to customers.

Bear Grills Café

Bear Grills Cafe, on Market Street, Congleton, will be offering takeaway only by calling 01260 400160 or using their website to place orders for click and collect or curb side pick up.

Bear Grills are also introducing a new delivery service for orders taken via their website with a minimum order value of £10, from 5th November until they can reopen as a sit-in café. Three-mile radius, £3 delivery charge.

David James Menswear

David James Menswear now has a website where people can order for delivery or click and collect (by appointment).

From Thursday onwards, the restaurant located on Lawton Street, Congleton, will be carrying on with their delivery and collection service.

Reubens recommend that customers book in advance via Facebook Messenger to guarantee you get your preferred time.

Cuttleford Farm Shop on Newcastle Road are still very much open for business and hope to stay that way. They have plenty of fresh produce, dairy produce, meat etc.

Customers can opt to have their order directly shipped to them (anywhere in the UK), postage costs can be advised depending on item size and weight.

Go Bargain Convenience Store

The Go Bargain team posted on their Facebook page: "Here at Go Bargain we have got you covered for the next lockdown. If you do not want to tackle the supermarkets let us take the worry out of your shopping."

They stock the following:

- Tinned goods

- Pet foods, wet and dry

- Fresh milk, bread and fresh local eggs

- Cigarettes, tobacco and alcohol

- Crisps, snacks and biscuits

- Wright's Pies and baps

They can also order in fresh fruits and vegetables for the following day.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5:30pm and Saturdays - 9am to 5pm.

The Little Shop

The Little Shop unfortunately cannot open during lockdown, but they will be offering free local delivers or click and collect.

Chatwins

Congleton's Chatwins will remain open but with reduced hours:

Monday to Thursday - 9am to 3pm

Friday and Saturday - 9am to 4pm


Glebe Farm Butchers

Glebe Farm Butchers remain open and are offering home delivery.

They can deliver your order to you for free when you spend over £30 if you live within six miles of Glebe Farm. They will deliver four days a week.

To order a delivery please TEXT 07793229680 with your name, address and your order.

Glebe Farm Butchers will arrange a delivery date and take card payment over the phone.

Customers have been asked not send their orders via Facebook or email as the staff need to keep orders all in one place to process them efficiently.

Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe

Following recent government advice, the sweet shop will be open only for Click and Collect orders from Thursday until 2 December.

All orders must be submitted in one of the following ways:

All payments must be made using contactless methods. All orders will be available to collect at the door - access to the shop will be prohibited.

The sweet shop is now taking Christmas orders in order to avoid that last minute rush and to ensure that they have the stock customers require.


Beardmore Motors

Beardmore Motors will be open throughout lockdown.

Bond's Bakery

During this new lockdown, Bond's Bakery will be opening Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30am to 1:30pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.

David and Alison Bond are encouraging people to place orders to ensure they have enough stock each day, and to avoid disappointment as there will be limited stock on general sale.

Norris Health

Norris Health Physiotherapists located on Lawton Street are classified as an essential service and will remain open throughout lockdown for face-to-face (Covid secure) and virtual (online or telephone) consultations.

You can get your Beartown Beer during lockdown:

- Go to the shop Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (Don't forget your mask)

- Visit the drive thru - Friday 5pm to 8pm and Saturday 12pm to 5pm

Black Lab Fireworks

Black Lab Fireworks based at Glebe Farm are open until 7pm tonight (Wednesday) for any last minute purchases.

If you don't fancy venturing out do not worry you can place your orders online or via phone and Black Lab Fireworks offer free delivery (within a 20 mile radius of Glebe Farm).

You can also click and collect from the shop, all orders are available for free same delivery (within a 20 mile radius of Astbury).

From tomorrow (Thursday), Black Lab Fireworks will still be at Glebe Farm ready to prepare your orders ready for delivery or click and collect, so you can still make purchases.

The Egerton Arms will be continuing their takeaway Sunday roasts.

The Plough Inn, Eaton

From Friday, The Plough Inn will be offering some of their favourite dishes to take away, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

- Collection only

- Phone lines are open for orders from 3.30pm Fridays and Saturdays, and from 11:30am Sundays

- Orders will not be taken via email or Facebook messenger - telephone orders only

- You will then be able to place your order and book a 15 minute collection slot

- Fully payment will be taken over the phone, unfortunately The Plough Inn will not be taking any payments upon collection

After their sweet boxes hit it off during the first lockdown, The Added Extra thought they would bring you an extra special box for Christmas.

Greggs will be open during lockdown for takeaway and click & collect only.

Opening hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm subject to change.


Nobanno Lakeside Indian Restaurant

Nobanno will be offering delivery only Thursday to Saturday from 5:30pm to 10pm.


Crema Deli

During lockdown the Deli side will be open, but the café will be shut, but it does give Crema the time to concentrate solely on being able to deliver to customers.

You can order by ringing 01260 270511, deliveries for Congleton will still have a minimum order and will hopefully be delivered ASAP (around an hour).

Deliveries for the surrounding areas will be delivered the next day with a minimum delivery order of £25 with no delivery charge.

The shop will remain open for takeouts and shopping. Takeouts include paninis, breakfast baps, coffees, sandwiches and more.

Crema will be open and delivering seven days a week. Cash and card both accepted.

Stock At The Pavillion

Stock At The Pavillion will be opening the hatch on the side terrace for takeaway during lockdown.

They will be selling hand-held food such as bacon sandwiches, hot toasties, buttered tea cakes, together with their homemade brownies, cookies and cakes.

They will also be selling hot chocolate, coffee and a range of hot and cold drinks.

Stock will be open Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 2pm weather dependent, if it is pouring it down with rain and therefore not really a day to be in the park they will not be open.

As from Thursday, No.1 Health Kitchen will remain open in the day for takeouts and deliveries from 9am to 3pm Wednesday to Sunday.

As health professionals, Ayres Health are open through lockdown to help with any foot problem.

During lockdown they are providing all usual podiatry/chiropody services. They have screens up in each clinic room and wear full PPE.

Strict cleaning and sterilisation protocols between patients and appointments are more spaced out to prevent patients meeting each other.
