Amateur photographers with who go to school in Congleton can enter a photography competition.

Nature is the name of the game, with young snappers invited to capture the season of spring in an image. The annual contest will have prizes for kids who take the best picture.

Those associated with Congleton High School, Eaton Bank Academy and all of the primary schools in Congleton and surrounding areas are also invited to the Spring in a Frame 2022 Photography Competition Exhibition, where the winners will be revealed.

Pupils, staff, parents, carers, families, friends and neighbours are invited to the event. Students must submit their pictures

It would be ideal if the photos could be taken within the Congleton area. As you know, our town is lucky to be surrounded with natural beauty.

The competition, organised by Congleton High School of Box Lane, will reveal the winners from 3.20-4.20pm on Wednesday May 18. So get your entries in before then!

There's less than a month to enter!

The photography competition, now in its second year, was launched by the CHS Science teacher, Matt Holmes, for students of Congleton High School and Eaton Bank Academy, along with pupils of all the primary schools from Congleton and surrounding areas.

In a statement, Congleton High School said: "The children are tasked with getting out in to nature to take photographs of some of the wonderful wildlife they encounter."

"Once again, Mr Holmes has been delighted by all the marvellous photographs sent in of the natural world around us. You can see every one of the images submitted this year displayed in the Exhibition."

Congleton High Pupils can enter the contest by handing their entry into Matt Holmes. Pupils from other schools in must ask their own school's teachers how they can enter.

The competition winners and runners up will be announced on the night, with the prizes awarded. There will also be the chance for the Exhibition guests to vote for their favourite photos in the 'People's Choice' award.

The event will also serve as a Ukraine Relief fundraiser. There will be a Wildlife Quiz you can enter to win a prize on the night, and other fundraising initiatives. Refreshments will be available. Anyone is welcome to attend the free event.
