The Congleton Food Hub run by Shaun Radcliffe, that has been active since the start of the coronavirus crisis has relocated.

The food hub was previously based at the town hall but a decision was made to relocate, and you can now find the team of volunteers at the Vale Club pub on Canal Street.

The team will be continuing to gratefully receive donations from 9am - 11am, Monday to Friday at the Vale Club or can be collected upon request.

Speaking about the change of location, Mr Radcliffe told Congleton Nub News: "Tracy Pointon, who runs the Vale Club has been terrific and so helpful.

"I got in contact with Tracy to see if we could use the premises and she very kindly accepted.

"We're as busy as ever and the amount of donations were getting is unbelievable, Fairshare in Manchester gave us a massive donation."

There are 10 volunteers at the pub every day and in the afternoons, four of the team are out making deliveries in two cars, ensuring they comply with essential travel and social distancing guidelines.

Shaun added: "Things are running really well, everybody knows what we're doing when we come in and all the items are split into categories.

"I cannot thank Tracy enough, if we need to come in on a Saturday or Sunday she is so understanding and just leaves us to it, which is great."

Residents can make cash donations, which will enable the team to continue to purchase food and supplies and support the community throughout this difficult and uncertain time.

You can donate through PayPal to: [email protected]

(Click the family and friends' option, so no money is taken off the donation)

The PayPal account is being monitored and all receipts will be kept on record.

Cash donations can also be accepted but must be in a sealed envelope inside a plastic bag.
