Congleton's MP has spoke fondly of their colleague Sir David Amess, who was killed on Friday.
The MP for Southend West was stabbed multiple times at his constituency surgery on Friday afternoon, and later died.
Congleton MP Fiona Bruce has paid tribute to the late 69-year-old, who died in Leigh-on-Sea.
Bruce took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late MP.
On Saturday at 11:39am, she tweeted: "Heartfelt prayers for the family of dear friend Sir David Amess; respected by Parliamentarians, dedicated to his constituents and committed to his Christian faith."
The 64-year-old Congleton parliamentarian was late to post a tribute to Sir David, with many MPs sharing condolences on the day of his death.
However, given Fiona's position as UK Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB), this may have caused her to be cautious in the timing of her tribute.
Early police investigations revealed a potential motivation linked to Islamic extremism.
Somali-Brit Ali Harbi Ali, the 25-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder and then detailed under the Terrorism Act, is believed to have spent some time in the 'Prevent' programme, which prevents people from being radicalised.
Due to the suspected terrorist nature of the incident, Fiona may have chose to hold back on commenting until further information was available due to other parliamentary position.
Fiona will mark one year as Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in December 2021.
Congleton Nub News contacted Fiona for comment on Friday at 7pm, before making her own public statement 15 hours later.
Fiona has served our town as an MP since 2010.
The Congleton parliamentarian had a lot in common with Amess, both were Conservatives and Christians, born in the 1950s.

Sir David Amess had been an MP for the entirety of Bruce's tenure in the Houses of Parliament.
The killed politician had been an MP since 1983.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson - the boss of David and Fiona - stated Amess was "man who believed passionately in this country and its future."
