Congleton community asked to help tidy town ahead of Britain in Bloom judging
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 30th Jun 2026
Congleton residents are being asked to roll up their sleeves.
Congleton in Bloom is asking members of the local community to help prepare the town for this year's RHS Britain in Bloom judging by taking part in its next Town Tidy Day.
Volunteers will meet at the Community Garden on Lawton Street at 10am on Saturday, July 4, where activities will include litter picking, weeding and a range of gardening tasks to ensure the town looks its very best ahead of judging.
Glen Williams, Congleton's dedicated Town Tidy Champion, said: "It's been fantastic to see around 50 volunteers supporting our Town Tidy events to date, and we're hoping for another great community turnout.
"The difference volunteers make is incredible, and with Britain in Bloom judging approaching, every helping hand really counts.
"Whether you can spare half an hour, an hour or the whole morning, we'd love to see you at the Community Garden to help showcase Congleton at its very best."
Residents of all ages are encouraged to take part.
No experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided, however, volunteers are advised to wear sensible clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor work.
This year's RHS Britain in Bloom judges will visit Congleton on July 15, when both Congleton Large Town and the Friends of Congleton Park entries will be judged.
The It's Your Neighbourhood entries will then be assessed on August 11 and 12, recognising the work of community groups and volunteers across the town.
