A Congleton centenarian has shared the key to living a long and happy life.
Mavis Tattersall, resident at Priesty Fields Care Home in Congleton, celebrated her 100th birthday in February.
Reflecting on reaching 100, Mavis said she does not have a secret to longevity, describing it simply as her fate.
She credits her outlook on life, saying she has always tried to keep doing the things she enjoys and to remain satisfied and grateful for what she has.
Rebecca Murphy, manager of Priesty Fields, said: "Mavis is a much-loved member of our community and it has been a real privilege to celebrate such an incredible milestone with her and her family.
"Her life story is inspiring, and her positivity and warmth shine through every day. We were delighted to make her 100th birthday a memorable occasion."
Born in Tottington, Lancashire, Mavis moved to Blackpool with her parents and two sisters at the age of 11.
It was in Blackpool that she met her future husband, Ron, at a dance in the iconic Tower Ballroom.
The couple married in 1949 and went on to share 64 happy years together.
The outbreak of the Second World War had a defining impact on Mavis's early life, having to leave school at 14 to go straight into work.
She trained as a seamstress, producing overalls for land girls and pyjamas for wounded servicemen during the war effort.
Her skill with needle and thread stayed with her throughout her life, and she continued dressmaking for many years, working from home while raising her three children.
She also have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In later life, Mavis and Ron embraced an active and social retirement. Keen walkers, they joined the Ramblers Association and enjoyed weekly walks in the Lake District, alongside walking holidays across the UK.
They were also enthusiastic members of a square-dancing club, where they enjoyed a busy and fulfilling social life.
Alongside this, Mavis has always loved reading, knitting, sewing and dancing.
Following Ron's death, Mavis continued to live independently until shortly before her 99th birthday, when she moved to Priesty Fields to be closer to her eldest daughter and family.
Surrounded by friends and family, Mavis was thrilled to receive a card from the King and Queen on her birthday - Sunday, February 15.
She was joined for the occasion by the Mayor of Cheshire East, councillor David Edwardes.
Councillor Edwardes said: "It was truly a pleasure to meet her and sample the scrumptious cakes with her!
"Happy birthday Mavis! See you next year!"
