Christmas panto audio special by Cong Bear

With Christmas on the horizon things have been looking bleak for what is normally known as panto season.

Because of Covid-19 restrictions, it's looking increasingly likely that no pantomimes will be taking place this year, just when we needed a bit of Christmas cheer the most.

But fear not, there will be one panto going ahead. It stars the bear, who put the bear into Beartown, the eco icon, Cong Bear, which will be a specially made audio panto featuring some familiar local Cheshire East locations and voices.

A Cong Bear Christmas will have all the traditional fun of a pantomime, only this time there is no need to leave your home as it will be broadcasted on Canalside Radio 102.8FM at various dates over the holiday season.

The audio play is being written by the co-creator of Cong Bear and writer of the upcoming Elizabeth Elmy play, Stuart Neild.

Stuart is also one of the presenters on Canalside Radio where you can hear him and his wife Sharon Sunday night at ten and at breakfast Monday morning.

Among the familiar voices cropping up in cameos will be Canalside's Nick Wright, Uncle Brian and DJ Dippy. Who else will be taking part?

You'll just have to wait and tune in via radio, or smart speaker and see, or rather hear.
