Cheshire village ready to burst into life with celebration of music and art

A Cheshire village will come to life with a celebration of music and art this autumn.
Goosfest, Goostrey's annual non-profit festival, returns later this week.
Running from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, October 12, this year promises another packed programme of events.
A spokesperson for the event said: "Each year we strive to improve and provide as wide a choice of excellent events as possible to local people.
"You can forget about the time and cost of travelling to nearby cities for high standards in music and arts. Goosfest provides all this – on your doorstep in the early autumn."

The last weekend of September sees a weekend packed with art and memorabilia displays and workshops taking place in around the village,
The last of these workshops is on Thursday, October 2, with a demonstration of mozzarella cheese making by Claire Burt at Bidlea Dairy.
Then the music side of the festival gets underway, starting with an evening of Americana music by Fine Lines at Goostrey Village Hall on Friday, October 3.
The festival comes to a close ten days later with a return visit by Bridgewater Hall organist Jonathon Scott, who will be giving a recital at St Luke's on Sunday, October 12.
In between, there are plenty of events to choose from – some sold out but a few with tickets remaining.
