Cheshire East 'One You' and Slimming World - Working together!

Slimming World is supporting Public Health England's (PHE) latest campaign 'One You' to help people make healthier lifestyle choices and future-proof their health.

'One You' encourages adults to lose weight, move more, eat well, drink less alcohol and be smoke free for life with varying help and support available.

Slimming World and PHE are encouraging people to take the 'How Are You?' quiz, which provides a practical way for adults to look at their lifestyle, indicating which areas might need a few tweaks.

The quiz provides encouragement and support to help people make healthy changes and makes suggestions to help people continue to their goal of a healthier lifestyle.

As well as encouraging people to take the 'How Are You?' quiz, the three organisations have teamed together to offer a referral scheme across Cheshire East.

This referral scheme offers a 12-week free referral for new members who live in Cheshire East, wanting the help, support and friendship that the local Slimming World groups provide every week.

In January, even in lockdown, the groups were open, meeting every week from the comfort of their own homes, staying connected and lost over 49 stone together (some members are unable to weigh from home).

Laura Bounford, team developer with Slimming World for the Congleton and Biddulph areas, said: "At Slimming World, we know that when you lose weight, you're already doing one of the very best things you can to future-proof your health by developing healthy habits for life."

Jenny Caven, Slimming World's head of external affairs, said: "We're delighted to once again be backing Public Health England and the 'One You' campaign.

"At Slimming World we know that when you lose weight, you're already doing one of the very best things you can for your on-going health by learning healthier habits for life.

"Making lifestyle changes that are small and sustainable – such as following a healthy eating plan without feeling hungry or deprived, enjoying plenty of fruit and vegetables, and becoming more active – can make a big difference".

To find out more about Slimming World's exclusive offer simply call Cheshire East's 'One You' referral line for eligibility and more information on 0808 1643 202 or visit their website to take the 'How Are You' quiz.

The team are also recruiting consultants for groups in Congleton right now, this is open to all past and present Slimming World members - to find out more call Laura for an informal chat on 07595 535 816.
