Officers from Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a serious collision in Congleton.

At 5.08pm on Wednesday 6th November, police were called to reports of a collision on the Clayton Bypass.

Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between an orange Land Rover Discovery and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 74-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

She remains in Royal Stoke Hospital at this time. Her injuries are described as serious.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old man, was uninjured.

Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing.

Constable Archie Love, of the Roads and Crime Unit at Cheshire Police, said: "This was a serious collision which has left an elderly woman with serious injuries, and we are committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.

"As part of our enquiries we're keen to hear from anyone who was in area and witnessed the collision taking place.

"The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid the investigation.

"I'd urge anyone with any information to call us on 101 or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML 1957270."
