'She always saw the best in everyone': family pay tribute to 45-year-old Congleton woman who was murdered

The family of a woman from Congleton who was murdered have paid tribute to the 45-year-old who had a "real zest to life" and "always saw the best in everyone".

David Mottram, 47, of Nursery Lane, has been remanded in custody and is set to return to Chester Crown Court on Friday 28 May.

He was arrested in Nursery Lane at around 11.15pm on Tuesday 2 March after officers found the body of a woman at an address in the close that night.

She has subsequently been identified as Samantha Heap, a 45-year-old from Congleton.

Samantha Heap's family have issued the following tribute to her through Cheshire Police: "Samantha had a real zest for life. She loved music and helping people, and she always saw the best in everyone.

"We are devastated by the tragic loss of her life."

Mottram appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday (5 March).
