Congleton Nub News has joined forces with a regular reader to share a 'Cocktail of the Week' feature - only throughout January, we are doing a Mocktail of the Week to help those of you tackling Dry January this New Year.

This week, Josh is bringing you a fruity cocktail perfect for tea-lovers, using ingredients you will find around your kitchen.

Frutti Tu-tea keeps it classic and classy - and booze free!

Ingredients:

  • 20ml orange juice
  • 20ml lemon juice
  • 50ml tea of your choice - we used earl grey
  • teaspoon of brown sugar
  • cinnamon stick or sprinkle of ground cinnamon

Method:

  1. brew a strong tea with a teaspoon of brown sugar and let cool
  2. add the orange juice, lemon juice and tea to a shaker
  3. if you are using ground cinnamon, add a tiny sprinkle to the liquid mix
  4. shake with ice until chilled
  5. if you are using a stick of cinnamon, light it and blow it out. Hold the smoking stick under the upturned glass to infuse a smokey flavour
  6. pour your shaken ingredients into a martini glass or tumbler over ice
  7. garnish with an orange slice - you can dry these on low in the oven if you are feeling fancy!

The good news, for those of you missing the boozy weekly treat, is that this is our last Mocktail feature, and we will be back sharing cocktails next week!

Alternatively, take a look at last week's mocktail feature here.
