Leek Building Society has a proud heritage dating back over 160 years and has this year been recognised as one of the best in the country in the British Banking Awards.  

After being named Britain's Best Building Society in 2023, the team at Leek Building Society have once again been recognised, reaching the final stage of the British Bank Awards 2025. 

Leek Building Society is a strong, independent and increasingly modern financial services provider with branches in Congleton and Macclesfield providing high-quality mortgage, savings products and community events.

Leek Building Society chief executive, Andy Deeks, said: "We're incredibly proud to be recognised as a finalist in the British Bank Awards – especially because these awards are driven entirely by customer feedback. 

"Our Society is committed to supporting both our savers and borrowers while creating a great place to work and making a real difference in our communities.  

"To be acknowledged by the BBA's, and to achieve a customer satisfaction score of 98.4% from Smart Money People, is a real testament to our colleague's dedication and our member's loyalty." 

The British Bank Awards are one of the few awards in the industry solely based on customer feedback. With the winner set to be decided in May, the judges will factor in review data to give a comprehensive view of the companies and reflect broad customer opinions.

After winning Best Building Society in 2023, Leek Building Society has made the final for three categories this year:  

• Best Building Society 
• Best Specialist Mortgage Provider 
• Best Building Society Savings Provider  

These nominations reflect the Society's ongoing commitment to its members. 

The Leek Building Society Charitable Foundation, established in 2021, has continued to grow its impact, awarding grants ranging from £500 to £5,000 to support local charities and community groups across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Shropshire. 

In 2024, the Society was proud to support a wide range of local charities, community groups, and organisations. It donated a total of £150,000 - making a meaningful difference where it matters most.
