Award winning building society remains committed to Cheshire branches

Leek Building Society has a proud heritage dating back over 160 years and the team remains as committed as ever to providing exceptional value through their competitive interest rates.
Leek Building Society is a strong, independent and increasingly modern financial services provider. With 12 branches open across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire, including Congleton and Macclesfield, the Society provides high-quality mortgage and savings products.
With outstanding service, fair outcomes and as a values-based mutual, the Society want to make a truly positive difference to the lives of its members, employees and local communities in Cheshire.
Because building societies don't have to pay dividends to shareholders, they are not focused on profits.
Instead, they remain committed to their town centre branches in Macclesfield and Congleton and concentrate their efforts on providing exceptional value to their members by way of a more competitive interest rate.
As it's the season for Individual Savings Account's (ISAs), the Society is offering competitive fixed rate cash ISAs. Whether you're saving for a holiday, buying a home or adding to your retirement funds, ISAs allow you to earn tax-free interest on the money you put in, allowing you to reach your short and long-term savings targets.
Leek Building Society offers a range of competitive fixed rate cash ISAs.
It is therefore no surprise that Leek Building Society is a 2025 national finalist for the best building society, best specialist mortgage provider and best building society savings provider categories.

"We were proud to be recognised in the Top 100 Global Most Inspiring Places to Work.
"During 2024, we supported a broad range of local community groups, charities and organisations, volunteering over 200 days with local causes and donating over £150,000 in addition to the fabulous work done by our Charitable Foundation."

Andy added: "We stand by our strong heritage and commitment to keeping our high street branches open.
"For over 160 years, our Society has put members at the heart of everything we do.
"That tradition remains important to us, which is why we continue to offer our members the flexibility to manage their finances in-person at their local branch or digitally through our online systems – whatever's best and more convenient for each member."
For the first time in the Society's history, mortgage balances grew by 9% last year, exceeding £1bn with a mortgage balance growth of 11% almost fully funded by this growth.
Additionally, Leek Building Society Charitable Foundation has gone from strength to strength, providing grants of between £500 and £5,000 to local charities and community groups in Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire.
Over £36,000 was donated to a number of worthy causes that will have a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged or vulnerable people in our communities.
