Once again this month, streets have not had their bins collected in Congleton.

Three streets in Congleton have not had their recycling bins collected.

Charlesworth Place, Wood View Row, and Redfern Avenue are the Congleton streets affected.

Additionally, three sites in Alsager also didn't have their bins collected on Wednesday.

ANSA, who are the contractors for waste services across Congleton and Cheshire East said: "Due to operational issues we are unable to make waste and recycling collections in some areas of Congleton and Alsager.

"We are aiming to return within 5 working days to collect missed bins.

"Thank you for your patience and apologies for the disruption."

ANSA, who recently won an award for Best Service Team: Waste Management and Recycling Service at Association for Public Service Excellence Awards, have been contacted for further comment.

It is the second time this month Congleton's bins have not all been emptied.

On September 8, the award-winning contractors missed garden bin collections on ten Congleton streets. They were; Surrey Drive, Hartford Close, Norfolk Road, Wiltshere Drive, Essex Close, Eaton Bank, Dane Bank Avenue, Devon Place, Sussex Place, Jackson Road.

It is not just waste services the shortage in lorry drivers is affecting.

Also on Wednesday, Tesco warned the government that it is worried about panic-buying in the run-up to Christmas as a shortage of HGV drivers may lead to empty shelves.
