A local tennis club has switched their tennis shoes for dancing shoes, in announcing a sponsorship with a Congleton nightclub.

These are exciting times on and off the court at Congleton Lawn Tennis Club, putting on competition after competition after months of lockdowns, which are attracting the attention of local players and businesses.

On court the club has begun its matches in the East Cheshire Winter League which it has entered for the first time and both teams have won their first matches.

Congleton Firsts beat Lymm Thirds 7-1 with the Congleton team being Matt Parker , Kathryn Barnett , Mike Massey and Vicky Hudson.

Congleton Seconds beat Woodside Seconds with the team made up of Julian Keen , Larysa Walls , Andrew Giltrap and Vicky Garner.

The South and Mid Cheshire Winter League matches have also started with the A team beating Hartford A and the B team beating Alsager B - The C team lost narrowly to Wistaston C and the D team lost to Cuddington F.
