Congleton: New business to open on High Street early next year

Great news for Congleton's High Street, as there's one less empty retail unit in our town.

Stephenson Browne, a community-oriented estate agents, will fill in the old Co-operative Bank.

The experienced Cheshire property sellers will open the doors to their new Congleton office in January 2022, and have already sold their first property, being a bungalow near Westlow Mere.

The company, which already have offices in Alsager, Crewe, Newcastle Under Lyme, and Sandbach are giving Nub News readers a chance to make the most of their opening offers.

They have announced an exclusive discount for the first 50 introductions on their services, and that's whether you are thinking of selling now or in the new year.

Stephenson Browne Congleton will be spearheaded by Sales Director, Craig Whitney, who has over 15 years' experience in the industry.

"We're looking forward to officially opening our doors in January," he said.

"However, whether you are thinking of selling now or in the new year, we'd love to come and see you at your earliest convenience to discuss how Stephenson Browne will be able to assist."

"Congleton's a growing town. There's a lot of houses and we appreciate there is some great estate agents already in the area. We recognise that it is important to recognise there are others to choose from but believe we have plenty in place to stand out amongst our competitors."

"We are taking it very seriously and think we are going to offer something that little bit different."

"We're looking forward to establishing our relationship with the community and local businesses."

The company have already reached out to a number of organisations and clubs within Congleton and look forward to announcing their sponsorship plans in due course.

They already sponsor local football teams and community groups across Cheshire East.

"The support of the local people has been fantastic so far," Craig also said.

"When we go in and have a coffee across the road at No. 1 Health Kitchen, everyone's excited to see the progress.

"Everyone we have met so far has been so welcoming. There was a lovely elderly woman passing our building the other day, the door was open, and she popped her head in to say 'you've turned this place around'.

"Aside from the people, personally my favourite thing about Congleton is coming with my daughter to Congleton Park. We like Castaway Play in Astbury and Glebe Farm too."

Two new hires have been confirmed thus far for the 21 High Street office.

One has property experience in Congleton, while the other is an experienced estate agent who lives in Congleton.

Craig is optimistic for the Congleton office, and how the post-lockdown property industry will fare in the future.

"I believe the market is going to be buoyant certainly for the next 12-18 months," added Craig.

"We had the stamp duty holiday. People understandably thought that was driving the market. But two of our best months were involved when the stamp duty holiday was not relevant.

"Lifestyle is what is driving the market right now. We've got lots of people that are downsizing early because they don't want to work until they are 70, they don't need the four-bed detached house.

"We've got people needing the four bed detached house because they're not going to be working five days a week at the office, they're doing three days in the office, two at home. They don't want their bedroom to be a study. So, they need more space.

"And this time of year, traditionally there is never that much stock so low stock will also be driving up prices."

Stephenson Browne have just launched their Congleton phone number 01260 545 600, for where you can take advantage of the discounted offer in selling your home.
