The original title of this article was 'French Onion Soup' after I spotted the item on the specials board at 'The Loft Cafe in the Victoria Mill building in Congleton. But now in the full descent into winter I noted another special seasonal comfort food - lobby!
I've changed my exhibition from limited edition prints to original oil paintings shaped by my travels.
'The bookseller's stall in Beaune', is a memory of a fine autumn morning in the wonderful little wine growers town in the Bourgogne Wine region of France where, outdoors in a cooling climate, nestled under the trees is the infamous book and antiques market.
The lighthouse on Vincent's Pier in Scarborough is another favourite place captured in oil Paint and on the wall within the fine aromas of the aforementioned cafe ..
There is also my collaborative venture in furniture design and construction using oak as old as Nelson's 'Victory'- in memory, from a beautiful beam salvaged from an ancient farmhouse and former coaching inn, the owner of which decided that a steel beam was the future. I'm delighted that a few pieces have left for new homes..
There is also a fine collection of quality books with a serious leaning into the art of the Folio Society Collection to be perused …
For the meantime, close your eyes and breathe in the fragrant aroma of a home made Lobby such as that nurtured in the pan by Ian Whitehouse, the chef of Michelin starred experience .. come along!
How to get there..
