Valerie passed away peacefully on October 26th 2020 aged 78. Following a short illness Trevor passed away on November 8th 2020 aged 82.
They were both dearly loved and devoted to each other. Loving parents of Stephen and Neil, father and mother-in law of Carol, treasured grandparents to Kayleigh and Oliver. Valerie was a loving sister of Michael and Richard. Trevor a loving brother of Gerald and Christine. Both were much loved friends to many.
The funeral took place on Friday November 27th of the late Valerie Mary Tew and her husband the late Trevor Martin Tew. Valerie passed away peacefully on October 26th 2020 aged 78. Following a short illness Trevor passed away on November 8th 2020 aged 82. They were both dearly loved and devoted to each other. Loving parents of Stephen and Neil, father and mother-in law of Carol, treasured grandparents to Kayleigh and Oliver. Valerie was a loving sister of Michael and Richard. The funeral service was held at Birches Crematorium and conducted by The Reverend Ian Enticott. As the funeral cortege travelled from Congleton to Northwich it paused outside Congleton Cricket Club to allow mourners to pay their respects. On arrival at the crematorium both Valerie and Trevor were escorted into the service to 'Somewhere, Over the rainbow' sung by Eva Cassidy. Eulogies were then read by Reverend Enticott and Miss Kayleigh Tew. 'Songbird' by Eva Cassidy was played before Psalm 23 was read. Following a short reflection Prayers and The Lord's Prayer were offered. Cliff Richard's 'When the girl in your arms is the one you love' was played as a reflection. This was also the song to which the couple held their first dance at their wedding on October 6th 1962. A reading was then given by Andrew Weatherill, on behalf of his father Richard Weatherill. 'There you'll be ' by Jai McDowell was then played. The commendation was read, followed by a Poem 'A life well lived ' The committal followed and the service then concluded with 'Wonderful life by Katie Melua. Their lives were then celebrated with the ceremonial release of white doves.

Mrs S House (Representing Mr R Mein, Mrs E Barber & Mr D Pimlot), Mr & Mrs D Johnson (Representing Mrs E Keefe), Mr & Mrs I Douglas, Mr & Mrs C Scott, Mr & Mrs C Searle, Mr & Mrs A Johnson, Mr D Openshaw.
The couples ashes will be interred at a later date with their late son Neil, within the church grounds of St. John the Evangelist in Buglawton.
