Twin brothers clashed in a local tennis tourney.

Congleton Lawn Tennis Club hosted its second social tournament of the season on Sunday, May 18.

The sun made a welcome appearance for the 2025 Presidents Trophy, with Ray Masson overseeing the proceedings.

The event was a foursomes style competition, with 16 members battling it out for vouchers courtesy of sponsors Hightown Fish & Chips.

Having progressed through the qualifiers, the semi finals saw Peter Crowcroft and Fletcher Moseley best Venus Moses and David King, while Charlie Stocker and Izach Moseley overcame Diane Henderson and Keith Brookbanks

This meant the final would see twin brothers Fletcher and Izach come face-to-face.

After a close encounter in which their dad Rob diplomatically sat on the fence, it was Fletcher and his partner Peter who were victorious and took home the fish and chip shop vouchers.

The runners up also took home prizes - Charlie with a bottle of red wine and Izach with a box of chocolates

Chair Rob McNinch presented the prizes and trophy and thanked the sponsors, Ray for his organisation on the day, Andrew Giltrap for setting up the event and running the bar on the day, Mandy Craker for the music and Gill White for taking the photos.

He also thanked all those who took part and the spectators who came along to watch the proceedings

£64 was raised for club funds from the entry fees

The next event is the annual Town Mayors Charity Tournament on Saturday, June 21.
