Congleton Town Council is urging people across the town to look out for each other as the Coronavirus epidemic takes hold.

At a meeting of the Health and Wellbeing Group of Congleton Town Council last week a number of measures were proposed that will help protect people and reduce the spread of coronavirus as much as possible.

Congleton's newest under-18s night Fresh has been postponed as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

After several meetings over the last couple of months with the town council's Anti Social Behaviour Working Group and Youth Council, Councillor Rob Moreton approached the manager of Bamboogy to organise an event for the young people of Congleton at the club.

Considering the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus, Congleton Lawn tennis club has made the decision that The Chairman's Trophy Tournament and the follow-on afternoon tea to commemorate Marion Doe, scheduled for April 4th, will be postponed until later in the year.

The club has also decided that in order to minimise the risk of infection, the kitchen and bar at the club will be closed and out of action until further notice.

Laura Ashley has confirmed they intend to appoint administrators after admitting coronavirus has had a significant impact on trading, adding that investors were unable to step up and provide the cash required to keep them afloat.
