Nine residents from Greengables Care Home in West Heath, Congleton, attended the home's 'End of Summer' beach and Hawaiian-themed party.

Residents helped to make decorations to decorate the dining room and lounges and there was an optional fancy dress code too (so lots of flowers, hula skirts and hats too!).

Staff at Congleton Town Council continue to work with key partners to ensure Remembrance Sunday and Christmas activities can go ahead in an adapted Covid-19 safe and secure format.

Earlier in the year, Congleton Town Council had held on to hope that by the end of 2020 the Covid-19 virus would be under control and that it may be possible to put on some of the events and festivals that are extremely popular in the town i.e. Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas Lights Switch On event.

Congleton's town centre looks set to be even more attractive and welcoming this Christmas as councillors recommend the purchase of additional lights to bring that added festive magic to the town.

For the past eight years the surplus funds from the budget used to store, repair, install, test and remove lights has been placed into Congleton Town Council's ear-marked reserve for Christmas lights, to build up their reserves for repairs or replacing lights.
