Astbury Mere Care Home was delighted to have been announced as the winner of the flower-based task at this year's Porthaven Garden Challenge.
The care home which is located on Newcastle Road, was crowned runners up in the overall competition too.

Circus Starr has been awarded £317,551 as part of the Government's £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure they have a sustainable future.
Congleton-based Circus Starr is one of 1,385 cultural and creative organisations across the country receiving urgently needed support.

The leader of Cheshire East Council has criticised the government's lack of communication over the implementation of local lockdown restrictions announced yesterday (Monday).
Cllr Sam Corcoran said he first heard that the borough would go into the 'high' tier of restrictions through the media and only received official confirmation 20 minutes before the Prime Minister's announcement in parliament.

Cheshire East Council has been named as a 'high alert level' area on the government's new coronavirus ranking.
The news was confirmed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a statement to the House of Commons this afternoon (12 October).

Somerford Parish Council will soon have two roundabouts in their parish on the Congleton Link Road.

Members of the Timbersbrook WI and Buglawton in Bloom have planted a tree to celebrate the 100th birthday of The Cheshire Federation of the Women's Institute.
The tree has been planted next to the 'Happy to Chat' bench in Buglawton.

Two Congleton organisations have been awarded over £415,000 between them as part of the government's £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF), administered by Arts Council England.
Congleton-based Circus Starr received the largest award for Cheshire East organisations with £317,551 and Clonter Farm Music Trust, based near Congleton, received £100,000.

To show the importance of supporting our high streets, 12 Congleton businesses are joining with over 100 independent high streets across the UK, to put on very special £5 offers until October 24, in the Totally Locally Fiver Fest.
The businesses taking part in Congleton are: Bear Grills Café, Birch Jewellers, Browns Jewellers, Davenports Menswear, Delia Metcalfe, Grace Brown Interiors, Hollinshead Jewellers, Norris Health, RJ & J Moores Greengrocers, Victoria Mill, Wild & Wild and Willow Vintage and Gifts.
Here's the first Rotary Guy Fawkes that's been spotted so far.
He's called 'Pilot Guy', or 'Guy Gibson' according to its owner. With plenty of his straw stuffing visibly sticking out, he should go up well with the afterburners lit, on 5th November.
