Rumba, on Swan Bank, Congleton

Two cocktail bars in Congleton have decided to shut their doors following a visit from police and council officials, who carried out coronavirus checks on premises' in the town centre.

Arriba, on West Street, and Rumba located on Swan Bank, announced on social media yesterday (Saturday) that officers from Cheshire Police and Cheshire East Council had visited their respected venues to undertake compliance checks.

Cheshire East Council, with the help of schools, colleges, early years settings and other family support services across the borough are distributing vouchers worth £880,000 on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions.

They will go to the most vulnerable children and families to pay for essentials such as food and energy during the winter months.
