By Tom Avery 1st Jul 2020

United Utilities continue to carry out "complicated" essential repairs on a collapsed sewer in Congleton which has also been impacted by recent heavy rainfall.

Padgbury Lane remains closed between the junction of Sandbach Road and Green Acres Road.

The road closure has been in place since 18th June (Saturday) after a sinkhole appeared.

A spokesperson for United Utilities told Nub News: "We're really sorry for the disruption caused by our work to repair a collapsed sewer on Padgbury Lane in Congleton.

"This is a complicated repair which has also been impacted by the recent heavy rainfall. We are working as quickly as we can to get everything back to normal again."
