Thirteen vehicles were clocked speeding on a Congleton road yesterday (Friday) evening.

Congleton West Police officers, armed with a hand-held speed gun, were on Newcastle Road monitoring traffic after concerns from residents.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Speed enforcement has been carried out this evening on Newcastle Road. 13 vehicles were exceeding the 30mph speed limit.

"Other locations will be monitored."
