The Top 5 Best Places to Eat in Congleton (according to Tripadvisor)
One complaint many residents (and Nub News readers) have about Congleton is that there are too many places to eat.
But at Nub News like to celebrate the good, and turn a negative into a positive.
So we thought we'd reveal who are the Top 5 Best Rated Congleton eateries, according to the travel website TripAdvisor.
These are restaurants café's, and pub which have had hundreds of great reviews, which the public have voted as our town's best.
So while you won't be seeing slightly newer outlets like Capital Walk, Higher Ground or Black Circle Coffee on the list, you will be seeing some older institutions that you have definitely dined at.
Now without further ado, let's get our teeth stuck into the Top 5.
No. 5 Crema Deli
This slot would've belonged to The Castle Inn, but it shut down two months ago and was the furthest away from Congleton town centre, so let's celebrate what is ranked as the No. 6 slot instead.
Promising a perfect mix of savoury or sweet, eat in (out) or takeaway, Crema Deli benefits from a central location, people-pleasing menu and a perfect Food Hygiene Rating.
With a varied offering including reasonably priced breakfasts, pasta dishes, and omelettes, it is no wonder it is one of the best reviewed restaurants in Congleton.

No 4 WILD & WILD
Just across the road from Crema, WILD & WILD - Healthy Café & Kitchen, of 2 Bridge Street, is next on our list.
Despite only being open for less than half a decade, the Congleton vegan eatery is one of the best scored places to eat on TripAdvisor. It has a 4.5/5 rating and 238 reviews.
The eatery have also earned points in the community, regularly donating to local institutions and charity raffles, in addition to their delicious meat-free food.

No 3 DV8
Taking the littlest spot on the medals podium is a venue on Little Street, and indeed the only place you can grab a bite on that street.
DV8 serves food nine hours per day, and has 20 'pub grub' style dishes to choose from.
The Grade II Tudor listed building is great for meat lovers, and opened in 2019.

No 2 Reubens
Taking the silver slot on the list is Reubens of 46 Lawton Street
The bar and BBQ spot are a family-ran American restaurant, and also have sites in Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Their offerings include nachos, wings, cheese steak, burgers (which are half price on Thursdays) and burritos.

No 1 Stock at The Pavilion
One that may surprise you as it is not on the high street, Stock at The Pavilion is an eclectic eatery inside Congleton Park.
Taking the top spot on the list, the establishment serves modern brunch, soup, boards, and a kids menu.
It is also a wedding venue, being located in the beauty of our town's Victorian Park.

Having the shortest opening hours on the list, six hours per day five days a week, does not stop it from appearing so high. 379 people rated in an average of 5/5. Wow.
