Staff at Park Lane care home in Congleton are once again celebrating a rating of 10 on the leading review site carehome.co.uk.

The Kingsley Healthcare run home is one of only two in Cheshire and eight across the entire North West to reach a perfect score, based on the reviews of residents, their relatives and friends, and visiting health professionals.

Park Lane had reached the perfect score in September on the influential review site which is similar to TripAdvisor for people searching for care.

Subsequently, they dropped to 9.9 when a couple of old reviews dropped off as they do after two years.

However, they are now back to 10 which is a phenomenal achievement.

Park Lane home manager Jayne O'Sullivan told Nub News: "It has been an incredibly hard 12 months for everybody, but the way Congleton has rallied together to get through this period epitomises that tight-knit community spirit the town has.

"We have kept in contact with residents' relatives through Skype, email, phone calls and sent photos to ensure they have been able to stay updated virtually.

"I am fortunate to have such a wonderful staff team here as well as an amazing group of residents and relatives.

"We are thrilled to have achieved a rating of 10 again and that is a credit to everyone – staff, residents and their families. We are such a close-knit home, really like one big family.

"There's light at the end of the tunnel with the pandemic."

She said she was touched by the glowing carehome.co.uk reviews that showed how much everyone thought of Park Lane and its staff during an "unprecedented year".

In one of the most recent reviews, a resident's daughter says: "Park Lane is a lovely place to live. The bedrooms and public spaces are all beautiful and the staff are truly exceptional.

"I live in London and have been shielding for the past year, so it has been such a comfort to me to know that my mum has been so well cared for.

"I can never thank the staff enough for their kindness and friendship to my mum and to me."

Another reviewer says: "The staff all work extremely hard and are always happy which has a positive effect on the residents.

"They are like one big family, nothing is ever too much trouble. The home is always spotlessly clean.

"There is a wide range of freshly cooked homemade meals served every day. Since the start of the pandemic, visiting became very hard but I always knew that my friend was in a safe place, and was cared for every day.

"Skype calls were arranged so I could still see and talk to my friend whenever I wanted, and the manager was always available if I had any questions.

"Overall, I have seen a massive improvement in my friend's health since being at Park Lane Residential Home and I wouldn't want them to be anywhere else.

"The home manager and her team should be very proud of themselves for all the hard work and dedication, especially during these uncertain times."

In a further review tribute, a relative said: "It is so very reassuring to know that my mother is in such safe hands. She is quite at home and is safe and happy.

"The home is always spotlessly clean and my mum is always well dressed with her hair neat and tidy.

"The staff are friendly and helpful and made it possible to visit my mum once lockdown had eased with a special room with a Perspex screen."
