Snow could fall in Congleton and Cheshire next week.

The BBC Weather has anticipated that, from Monday 15 January to Sunday 21 January, snow could fall across the UK.

Weather conditions are expected to be unsettled, with temperatures dropping off at the end of this week.

Temperatures are expected to be below the January average, and on Monday it looks like there will be a developing low pressure system moving across the northern UK, which should bring snow across Scotland and part of England.

In Northern Ireland, Wales and the rest of England rain and sleet is likely as the associated cold front moves south-eastwards.

On Tuesday and Wednesday north to north-westerly winds should bring snow showers, mainly to windward areas.

BBC Weather will also be "monitoring the possibility of a low pressure system sliding across southern England, moving north from France. With cold air in place this could bring a period of snow to some areas in the southern half of the UK, or a mixture of rain and snow.

"It's not possible to be sure of this, with the nature and extent of any precipitation dependent on small variations in the low pressure track, but it is worthwhile highlighting as a possibility.

"The second half of the week should have scattered snow showers but the end of the week could be drier and might start to turn a bit less cold."

Do you like the snow, or are you hoping to miss out on a white New Year?
